The concept of the Guide to Chabre originated from the efforts of Karlis Jaunpetrovics on YouTube. Flight debriefs have always been a means for him to enhance his own paragliding skills. Taking it a step further on his YouTube channel, he made his flight debriefs public, prompting a deeper analysis of the Chabre region in France. This led to a genuine reflection on the reasons behind various flight occurrences. As a result, Karlis decided to create a challenge for the local site where he resides.
In early 2022, Karlis developed the Chabre Challenge, a detailed guide for a 100 km flight from Chabre. This comprehensive 24-page PDF document was made available to participants who signed up for his email list (still accessible). The guide received a highly positive response from the pilot community, with pilots appreciating the quality of the content. Throughout the season, an increasing number of pilots expressed interest in additional tasks aligned with the Chabre Challenge concept.
Motivated by the positive feedback, Karlis invested significant time in creating this book. He genuinely hopes that it will prove beneficial to pilots during their flights at Chabre, France.
