Description

Everest sleeves protect you from the cold down to -30°C

Cold is a major challenge for long-distance paragliding enthusiasts! At altitude, freezing temperatures can seriously affect pilots, diminishing their ability to perform. Windsriders has designed Everest sleeves to provide complete protection against the cold, whether you're flying in winter or venturing to dizzying heights.

Everest 8848 sleeves are specially designed for the harshest conditions. They are the best-performing sleeves in our range, offering protection against temperatures as low as -30°C. These sleeves are an evolution of the previous K2 models, which had already won the hearts of paragliders. They offer superior thermal comfort thanks to a more generous size and greater ease of use, especially during take-off.

How to use the Everest sleeve

Compared with the K2 model, the Everest sleeve has benefited from a number of improvements. The sleeve has been lengthened to better cover the forearm, and the increased overall volume with larger cells allows optimal filling of the 700 Cuin down. This design ensures that the opening remains well-formed, making it easy to insert and remove your hands to adjust your gear, take photos, or any other necessity.

The side zipper simplifies take-off. Once in flight, it's crucial to secure the sleeve. Start by sliding it over the brake handle, then use your other hand to pull up the zipper with a strap. This strap should wrap around the brake line and re-attach to the sleeve, securing its position. Inside, your hands remain free and accessible.

Everest sleeve details

A thick anti-cold bead covers the zipper and prevents cold air from passing through, perfectly insulating the hand from the outside. Combination with a down jacket, such as the Reverse or Thermique light models, guarantees optimum insulation. The natural volume of the sleeve on these down jackets allows perfect integration into the sleeve, without the need for additional tightening. An internal buckle facilitates zipper closure, ensuring adequate tension for easy handling. A small carabiner, to be attached to the brake handle, secures the sleeve from the inside.

For further customization, you can attach this carabiner to an internal elastic band, bringing it out from the bottom to attach to the harness carabiner. Two small loops, sewn into the base of the Everest sleeve, allow you to attach a rubber band, as some pilots do with "Acro" handles. This elastic band can be attached to the harness or to the connecting link, providing added tension and stability to the sleeve. Although this may slightly complicate take-off, it's a matter of personal preference.
