The Delight 5 by Supair is part of the history of a harness born in a very demanding environment: the Red Bull X-Alps, where every gram counts and equipment must meet extreme constraints. The first generations were therefore very lightweight harnesses designed for hike & fly competitions. Over the years, the product philosophy evolved to create a cross-country cocoon harness that is accessible, capable of accompanying a wider range of pilots.
Since the third generation, the objective has been clear: to offer a reassuring, comfortable and easy-to-use cocoon. The Delight 5 continues this evolution by retaining the qualities developed through previous versions while moving back toward a lighter design. The Supair design office worked to reduce weight without sacrificing the comfort or protection achieved in the previous generation. The result: around 300 g less than a Delight 4, representing nearly a 10% weight reduction, while maintaining a high level of durability and support.
The DELIGHT series is based on a characteristic chassis designed to prioritize stability. Its carbon seat plate provides a clear seating position and solid support points, allowing the pilot to stay focused on their trajectory without being disturbed by unwanted movements. The harness also helps to smooth the behaviour of the wing, filtering and softening the sensations so that pilots can fly more calmly with modern cross-country wings that are often very communicative.
The enveloping cocoon of the Delight 5 has been designed to provide precise and long-lasting comfort. The supportive seat keeps the pilot securely positioned in the harness, reinforcing the feeling of safety and reducing fatigue during long cross-country flights. This ergonomics makes it particularly suitable for experienced pilots flying high-performance wings, while still remaining accessible to those who want to discover their first cocoon for cross-country flying.
Furthermore, the Delight 5 also offers a high level of safety within its category. Its full-length PLASTAZOTE© back protection protects the pilot from the neck down to the lower thighs thanks to a high-performance structural foam that is effective as soon as the harness is taken out of the bag, regardless of the impact orientation. The stability of the chassis also helps manage the wing more easily when conditions become stronger.
This fifth generation also marks a step up in ergonomics and finishing. The harness integrates several improvements, including a magnetic cockpit, a magnetic speedbag, an optimized reserve pocket, as well as better accessory integration. All these developments allow pilots to focus fully on their flight, with an excellent level of comfort and ease of use.
