A complete tandem acro wing to share performance
The KOOKY 2 Bi by Skyparagliders is a tandem wing dedicated to acro, designed for pilots who want to share their passion with passengers or train future acro pilots. It combines the essential qualities of a tandem wing — easy takeoff and landing — with the requirements of a fast, precise and dynamic acro wing.
Easy to handle for an experienced pilot, it allows advanced manoeuvres to be performed while maintaining clear and intuitive behaviour.
A true tandem acro machine
The KOOKY 2 Bi is not limited to playful flying: it is designed to perform manoeuvres such as rhythmic SAT up to infinity tumbling.
Its behaviour evolves depending on wing loading:
- When heavily loaded, the wing gains speed and dynamism.
- With a lighter duo, using the trims adds more liveliness.
For initial familiarisation, a moderate wing loading is recommended in order to get used to the specific characteristics of the wing before exploring its full potential.
Easy takeoff, maximum energy in flight
Despite its acro programme, the KOOKY 2 Bi retains essential tandem qualities: easy takeoff and a solid wing without the need for excessive speed.
In flight, brake pressure remains light and handling is significant. The wing has enough energy for high-level manoeuvres while maintaining clear and readable behaviour.
A training and progression tool
The KOOKY 2 Bi is also an excellent teaching tool. It allows acro instructors to demonstrate entry and exit techniques for complex manoeuvres, including the correct angle for infinity.
According to Artoosh Ghafourian, the development aimed to enable smooth rhythmic SATs as well as easier transitions into infinity. The wing allows a stall even in infinity and facilitates manoeuvre entries.
For which pilot?
- Tandem pilots experienced in solo acro flying
- Acro instructors wishing to demonstrate and teach advanced manoeuvres
Key features
- Easy takeoff and solid wing structure
- Smooth transitions (light loading) or fast and dynamic transitions (heavy loading)
- Sufficient energy for advanced acro manoeuvres
- Light brake pressure
- Clear and intuitive behaviour
- High level of passive safety
- Easy landing
A demanding wing for expert pilots
Although the KOOKY 2 Bi offers an easy takeoff feeling and strong solidity in flight, it remains a small, fast tandem wing compared to a classic tandem. Its use in acro requires an excellent level of piloting skills.
Brake travel differs from that of a small solo acro wing and requires more pilot input. Harness and spreader bar models also influence the overall behaviour.
This wing provides tremendous enjoyment for the passenger, but it must be used with mastery and responsibility.
