The PERMAIR protector delivers a high level of passive safety from launch without adding unnecessary weight or bulk. Lightweight, intuitive, and versatile, this harness lets you focus on what matters most: the hike, the take-off, and the joy of flying.
Color-coded seams help ensure quick and intuitive setup: red for the left side, blue for the right (when facing the direction of flight). The proven Get-Up closure system attaches directly to the main carabiners, providing a simple and secure connection before every launch.
The Power Frame distributes the load evenly across the entire seat, providing optimal support without creating pressure points. The result is outstanding comfort in the air while also ensuring excellent carrying comfort in backpack mode.
The TWIST comes complete with a reserve deployment handle and inner container, making it easy to integrate a wide range of reserve parachute systems. Thanks to Seamless Integration, the deployment handle can be connected directly to the PEPPER CROSS LIGHT2 and SALSA2 for quick and straightforward installation.
The integrated RECCO® reflector gives rescue teams an additional chance to locate a missing pilot, for example in densely forested terrain.
Secure Velcro attachment points allow you to mount your flight instrument or radio exactly where you need it. Integrated retention loops provide extra security, keeping your equipment safely in place.
The hydration bladder fits neatly into the rear storage compartment, while the drinking tube can be routed through a dedicated opening and secured to the shoulder strap with an integrated retention loop.
The harness features numerous storage compartments designed to keep your gear close at hand. Its large rear storage compartment offers generous space for your equipment, while the zippered side pocket, easily accessible in flight, is perfect for storing essential accessories. A dedicated PERMAIR pocket provides easy access to the valve and stores both the inflation bag and the inflation mouthpiece. Inside the harness, an elastic pocket on the right-hand side keeps important items within easy reach, while the stretch shoulder pockets can hold a soft flask or a smartphone, secured by integrated retention loops.
The integrated backpack is equally well designed, featuring an expandable main compartment capable of accommodating high-volume wings such as the SKYWALK MASALA or ARAK AIR. Elastic outer pockets on both sides and the front provide quick access to your gear, while a helmet net, stored in its own dedicated compartment, makes carrying your helmet easy. In flight, the harness allows simple adjustment of the shoulder straps, chest strap, backrest inclination, and seat angle, enabling you to find the ideal flying position for your body shape and personal preferences.
Yes, the TWIST can also be used with steerable reserve parachutes, provided that the specified volumes are observed. To assemble the rescue system, two screw carabiners with a total tensile strength of at least 2.400 daN are directly connected to the color-coded suspension points in the upper part of the V-line channel.
The control handles of the rescue system can be stored in the small compartment in the upper part of the V-line channel. The risers are routed from the V-line channel into the rescue compartment. The unused serial V-line can remain in the upper part of the V-line channel. During assembly, make sure that the control handles of the rescue parachute fit in the upper part of the V-line channel and do not come into contact with the inner container.
No, the loops are too small for that. You cannot mount Quick-Out carabiners to the TWIST harness.
The further development of our first PERMAIR protector generation has a practical inflate/deflate valve, which makes the filling of your protector significantly easier. PERMAIR 2.0 protectors can be inflated in different ways:
- PERMAIR PUMP: It also serves as a powerbank with a battery capacity of 3600 mAh. The PUMP is not included in the delivery of the TWIST.
- PERMAIR Mouthpiece: The mouthpiece includes a moisture filter that minimizes moisture penetration. The PERMAIR mouthpiece is included with the TWIST.
- Inflationbag: You can store it at the PERMAIR Pocket of the harness. It is included in the delivery of the TWIST.
The ideal pressure is achieved with the PERMAIR PUMP. The mouthpiece should also be used if there is a difference in altitude of more than 1500 m between the take-off and landing sites.
At an ambient temperature of 20°C, the protector can be filled about 20 times.
No, unless a minimum pack size is required, the protector does not have to be emptied. Before starting, however, you should check whether the protector is sufficiently filled.
The TWIST is suitable for winch towing. It has no special towing loops. The tow release is hooked either to the main carabiners or, preferably, to a towing adapter which is passed over the ends of the risers before they are hooked into the main carabiners. Follow the instructions in the manual for your tow release and tow adapter or consult a flight instructor who has experience with winch-towing.
It is not recommended to use the TWIST for flights over water or for safety training. There is a possibility that the PERMAIR protector could push the pilot under water after a water landing due to the buoyancy of the protector. Should you nevertheless use the harness for flights over water, we explicitly advise you to wear a life jacket.
No, the TWIST is not a suitable harness for tandem flight.
