The Pulse by Supair is a pressurised pod harness designed for pilots who regularly fly cross-country. Its design combines the aerodynamic approach of the ALP with the chassis of the Delight 5. It brings together two essential aspects of distance flying: the efficiency of the pilot-and-wing combination and the comfort needed to spend several hours in the air.
This combination gives the Pulse a distinctive place in the Supair range. It is designed for pilots looking to upgrade their cross-country equipment while keeping a harness suited to their everyday flying. Support within the pod, access to instruments and ease of getting into the harness are just as important to this choice as the shape of the outer envelope.
A harness’s aerodynamic design also considers the air flowing around the pilot. On faired pod harnesses, the outer envelope creates a smoother overall shape. This principle, developed notably for the ALP, is adopted by the Supair Pulse: its envelope takes shape in flight to improve airflow.
For cross-country pilots, the harness therefore becomes an integral part of the pursuit of performance. Wing choice remains crucial, but flying position and pod shape also deserve consideration. The Pulse follows this approach with a design focused on glides and distance flying.
On flights lasting several hours, seat comfort becomes particularly important. Good support helps maintain a comfortable position throughout thermals and glides. The Pulse combines the Delight 5 chassis with an enveloping pod and a contoured carbon seat plate.
This connection with the Delight range puts comfort at the heart of the design. The seat and support points help communicate the wing’s movements, while the cockpit keeps instruments within reach. The aim is to provide a practical flying position throughout the flight, whether you are following a familiar route or pursuing a new distance goal.
The Pulse features two automatic Cobra buckles, one on each side. The adjustable footplate allows you to adapt your position within the pod.
Taking the time to adjust a harness to your body is part of getting familiar with it. Trying it on a suspension simulator helps you assess back support, leg position and access to the controls before flying. These adjustments are particularly important for a pod harness intended for flights lasting several hours.
The Pulse is equipped with full inflatable protection, a fall-prevention system and two reserve parachute compartments, one on each side. It is EN and LTF certified for 120 kg.
The right compartment accommodates a volume of 2.9 to 5 litres, and the left compartment 2.9 to 3.5 litres. These specifications help you select suitable reserve equipment with your dealer.
