Developed for the demands of hike & fly competitions, including the Red Bull X-Alps, the Expe Race X 60 is aimed at pilots seeking to reduce the weight carried on approaches and adventures. Niviuk states that its athletes also use this configuration. Its layout accommodates flying equipment while keeping smaller accessories accessible during walking.
The Dokdo 32 g fabric contributes to the stated weight of 440 g for size 60. Water-resistant materials and waterproof zips help with wet conditions, without guaranteeing that the entire pack is fully waterproof. Niviuk explains that the extremely lightweight construction makes the material more delicate: this model is particularly suited to pilots and competitors who put weight saving first.
Flexible fabric and volume adjustment allow the pack to adapt to the space taken up by your equipment. Size 60 offers 60 to 70 L of capacity, with stated dimensions of 80 × 50 × 22 cm (height × width × depth). The pack stays compact when closed. Its ergonomic shape and adjustable shoulder and waist straps are designed to provide stable carrying, including on running sections.
A top pocket at the back complements the large side pockets. Lycra pockets on the lower adjustable straps hold energy bars or small items. Side pockets can accommodate a Camelbak-type water bladder or other accessories, while shoulder pockets carry small bottles. Hook-and-loop compartments on the waist strap are intended for a GPS or phone. These storage options make useful equipment easier to reach while moving.
The backpack includes adjustable fasteners for climbing equipment and ice axe attachments. Pockets and attachment points do not imply that the corresponding accessories are supplied. This product listing covers exclusively Expe Race X, size 60.
