The new benchmark paraglider for cross-country flying
The MENTOR 7 by NOVA redefines the standard for EN B wings. Thanks to its innovative 2.5-line design, this XC glider combines exceptional glide, flying comfort, and impressive stability, even in turbulent air. With 66 cells, an aspect ratio of 5.5, and a weight starting at 5.1 kg, it offers smooth yet high-performing behavior, perfectly suited for long-distance flights.
Designed for distance pilots, the MENTOR 7 handles turbulent air masses with confidence. Its outstanding high-speed behavior, refined responsiveness, and unmatched stability allow pilots to focus on tactical decisions. Even during full-speed collapses, the wing’s reactions remain predictable and manageable, boosting pilot confidence.
2.5-line hybrid design: between 2-liner and 3-liner
The core technology of the MENTOR 7 lies in its unique design: a 3-liner in the center and a 2-liner at the tips, with no C3 line. This hybrid concept reduces drag and improves performance during accelerated flight, while maintaining the smoothness and safety that define the MENTOR series. This intelligent structure enhances the wing’s behavior, especially at high speeds.
Optimal pitch control during accelerated flight
The MENTOR 7 features the new HAC (Height Adjustable C-handles) on the Speedbrake Riser 2.0, providing pitch control similar to a 2-liner. This technology, once reserved for competition wings, makes accelerated flight more efficient and precise, while remaining accessible for pilots wishing to improve their C-riser control skills.
Advanced internal structure
The MENTOR 7 also stands out thanks to its sophisticated internal structure: 66 cells, additional rods at the rear, and a performance-oriented design. Note: it should be packed carefully using a Concertina Bag Light to preserve the rods and extend the wing’s lifespan. Every structural element contributes to its aerodynamic efficiency and stability.
Risers designed for performance
The Speedbrake Risers 2.0 offer precise handling. The inclusion of the Baby-B line improves the HAC system’s operation while keeping a clear layout. A magnet connects the A and Baby-B lines for easier setup, but NOVA recommends detaching the magnet before inflation for optimal take-off behavior. Directional corrections are preferably made via the brakes.
Who is this glider for?
Rated EN/LTF B, the MENTOR 7 is aimed at experienced cross-country pilots in this category, but also those who want to progress seriously. It is forgiving, yet rewards those who wish to get the most from their flights through use of the speed bar and C-riser control. Its hybrid technology requires understanding some nuances, like the more efficient B3 fold instead of traditional big ears.
