The PIXEL by Skyparagliders is a speed flying wing designed to deliver an intense, precise and exhilarating flying experience. Carefully developed, it is aimed at both experienced pilots and passionate beginners looking to discover the world of speed flying with progressive and high-performance equipment.
Its objective is clear: to offer a machine that combines a wide speed range, responsive handling and easy takeoffs, for a smooth and committed speed flying experience.
The larger sizes (15 and 17) have been designed to make learning easier, with less aggressiveness, reduced roll and increased stability. They provide more forgiving and comfortable handling for discovering speed flying with confidence.
In contrast, the smaller sizes are not simply scaled-down versions. They have been specifically optimized to meet the demands of experienced pilots: more roll authority, sharper turns, more direct feedback and increased responsiveness throughout all phases of flight.
Thanks to its short line configuration, the pilot is positioned closer to the wing, making short mountain takeoffs easier. A slight brake input is enough to achieve quick lift-off.
The PIXEL’s specific airfoil and optimized line layout allow for a pronounced surge after brake release, a characteristic highly valued in speed flying. The extended speed range enables effective brake use throughout the entire travel.
The PIXEL stands out with its refined B/C rear-riser control system, integrating two pulleys and a dedicated handle on the rear risers. This setup offers precise glide control and high responsiveness, making dynamic lines and tight turns easier to execute.
Its Rollercam® system, featuring cam buckles with rollers, ensures smooth and secure trim adjustment.
In flight, its stability in turbulent air inspires confidence, while the responsive controls allow for dynamic flying. The flare is generous and powerful, ensuring smooth and controlled landings.
According to designer Standa Klikar, the goal was to develop a speed wing with a wide speed range that allows effective brake use throughout the entire travel. The quick lift-off and pronounced surge are key elements of its character.
Test pilot Artoosh Ghafourian highlights the ease of inflation and simplicity in flight, while noting that the PIXEL remains intended for pilots with advanced skills. Faster than some wings in its category, it offers excellent glide control and great ease during landing.
