Description

What are the goals of the Paragliding Initiation Course?

During your paragliding initiation course, your goal will be to validate several key points with your instructor, certifying your understanding and ability to practice paragliding.

  • First, the main objective is to learn the basic techniques to master the take-off phase. Thanks to practical exercises and theory lessons, you will quickly be able to take off safely.
  • The second goal is to understand a flight plan. You will need to reproduce in the air a flight path previously studied during theoretical lessons.

Moreover, an initiation course provides students with the basics of aerology. No worries, there's no exam at the end of the week, but this knowledge will follow you throughout your paragliding life.

Finally, once all these objectives are reached, the ultimate goal of the initiation course is to perform your first solo high-altitude flights.

What is the program of this beginner paragliding course?

The initiation course includes several outdoor practical exercises as well as classroom theory lessons.

Two to three half-days of the week are dedicated to wing control on the training slope. This helps you understand how a paraglider behaves and lets you experience your first sensations.

Video analysis and debriefing follow to correct positioning issues and help you better control your glider. Theory workshops like weather analysis are also included.

The last days of the course are dedicated to flying from various sites, depending on weather conditions.

Note: Paragliding is a weather-dependent sport. The content may change according to weather and aerological conditions.
