"The Bolero 8 is the kind of wing that, right from inflation, feels very accessible for a beginner pilot. I really appreciated its new architecture: the leading edge remains clean, uniform and easy to inflate. During inflation, the wing rises smoothly and evenly, with no tendency to overshoot.
Once in the air, you find a stable, balanced wing, slightly calmer than the Bolero 7, which tended to be lively in the upper half of the weight range. Gin has managed to correct this, making the wing’s behavior truly enjoyable, regardless of the weight range at which you fly it. The brake travel is long and progressive, with clear feedback. And of course, as always, Gin’s DNA is clearly present, with truly precise handling.
On landing, the final flare is effective, and the round-out is perfect. I was able to test several landings — tailwind, headwind, with or without gradient — but each time I found a brake input that allowed me to land smoothly. The Bolero 8 remains gentle and forgiving, with brake responses that are predictable and allow you to round out even a slightly weak final approach.
In short, for me, the Bolero 8 combines easy handling with a reassuring in-flight behavior and enough performance to support a student beyond school flights."
